Kentucky Beef Expo is March 4, 2023

KY Black Hereford Association Breed Show and Sale
at KY Farm Bureau Beef Expo at the KY State Fair grounds Louisville KY.
Show for the Sale is 12 pm eastern time Saturday March 4th, Sale is Saturday March 4th at 4 pm eastern

  • Consignments are open to all ABHA members
  • Low sale commission rates 12% to ABHA members
  • KBHA members’ commission sale rate 11% you must be an active member with 2023 dues paid or be a lifetime member to the KBHA before January 31St 2023 to receive the 11% commission rate.
  •  If you choose to picture your animal in the sale catalog the pictures must be approved by sales manager.
  • Sale animal entry and picture deadline is January 31st

  • Nationwide buying audience
  • Haltered broke animals preferred
  • Very limited pen animal availability; Bred heifers, open heifers and cow/calf pairs only. Must be approved by sales manager.
  • Animals will be required to have EID tag & BVD Test (metal tags will not be accepted)
  • Saturday 12 pm open show with premiums  for sale animals only  
  • Premiums paid on show winners
    • F1
    • % Heifers
    • Purebred Heifer
    • % Bull
    • Purebred Bull 
    • $2500 in premiums paid for the shows
  • Animals must be checked in for Sale on Thursday March 2nd or by 9 am on March 3rd 
  • Bedding will be provided for sale animals and the cost will be deducted from sale proceeds
  • Sale animals nomination is $125.00 and will be refunded from the commission cost when sold

Juniors

  • Any Junior that purchases a heifer at the sale and wins a championship in the Sunday Jackpot show will receive additional premium money from KBHA in the amount of $200.00  for Champion, Reserve Champion will receive $100.00
  • KY Junior Show and Open Junior Jackpot entries will be paid upon arrival of Event to the KY Beef Expo
  • Open to all Juniors Sunday March 5th Jack Pot show with Premiums. KBHA will pay premiums in addition to the KY Beef Expo premiums.  Animals are not required to sale.
  • KY Junior premium money for KY Proud Winners
  • KY Junior show and Sunday Jackpot show must be checked in by 12pm Saturday March 4th
